Printing 8x8 digital scrapbooking layouts

OK - what did I do wrong?  I created an 8x8 digital layout using FxFoto's Recipe Project CD.  Loved it, looked great.  I uploaded it to Yahoo! Photos, and sent it to Target for printing as an 8x10 enlargement - expecting it to come back as an 8x8, with 2" needing to be trimmed off the bottom.

But it came back enlarged as an 8x10 with part of the edges of the image cut off.

What do I need to specify for it to come back like I expected?

Thanks for your help!

You might have to put the layout into Photoshop or Paint on an 8 by 10 canvas and save the image with the 2 inch white strip. How I print 8 x 8 on my printer is set the margins to .25 left, .25 right, 1.5 top and bottom for 8 1/2 by 11 paper. Hope that helps

Yep, that's what I do. Transfer the 8x8 layout onto a "canvas" that is 8x10. Then upload for printing. Works everytime.

Thanks for the tip, Melissa, and the confirmation, Pam. I never would have thought to do that. I'll try it next time!

Ok I so did the same thing only to be printed at walgreens. It came back with heads chopped off. I would suggest using They have a wider variety of printing sizes. I resloved my problem by printing at home. HTH
