Memorytrends Magazine Absorbed Back into Craftrends

Announced in the October 2007 issue of Craftrends:

Effective immediately, we are rolling Memorytrends magazine back into the pages of Craftrends and will be increasing the frequency of Craftrends from quarterly to six issues per year.  The next issue will be December, which features our annual Consumer Participation Survey.

Editorial Director Bill Gardner also announced he has assumed editorial director responsibilities for Creative Machine Embroidery magazine, Sew News, and Sew Simple, in addition to Craftrends, and educational responsibilities for the Memorytrends Conference & Expo.

Also effective in October was Beth Hess' resignation as editor of Memorytrends magazine and managing editor of Craftrends.  She left to join her husband in their family business full time.

Beth Hess Announces Resignation from Memorytrends Magazine

Seen in the 9/21/07 edition of Memorytrends Magazine's e-newsletter News Bites:

...This newsletter marks my last official day with ckMedia, Craftrends & Memorytrends. Starting very soon, I'll jump fully into a new career of real estate and home construction, joining my husband in our family's growing business in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I will never be able to fully express the joy it has been to work with Craftrends, and then Memorytrends, for the last 8 years. More than business associates, so many of you truly are my friends. I will forever be a cheerleader for the creative industries, and you'll be proud to know I'm making a scrapbook of each home we build to present to the new owners at closing.

Memorytrends & Craftrends magazines are working on an editorial reorganization plan following Beth's departure.

Two items of note seen recently in the July 29th issue of the Wooden Horse Publishing e-newsletter (and featured on the home page):

SCRAPBOOK DIMENSIONS covers "the long-standing traditions of paper scrapbooking with the ease and appeal of its ever-growing digital counterpart."  Topics include tutorials, project ideas, product and software reviews, and image galleries.  Cindy Wyckoff is editor-in-chief of this bi-monthly magazine from EAM Publishing, which debuted in January.  Distribution is by subscription and on select newsstands...

ARTFUL BLOGGING offers perspectives on artists and writers who share their creative work through online journals, galleries, and blogs.  Topics range from profiles and etiquette, to technology information sources and how to get started.  The quarterly magazine debuts in August and is published by Stampington & Company...

A bit more on Artful Blogging: "Our newest 144 page special publication spotlights some of the exceptional artists’ blogs currently online: Michelle Ward, Belinda Schneider, Misty Mawn, Nina Bagley, Claudine Hellmuth, Celine Navarro and 35 others! This superb publication provides Blogging Etiquette, Blogger’s Must-Haves and How to Get Started on your own blog spot!"  The magazine will be published four times a year (January, April, July & October), and will retail for $14.95 a copy.

Wooden Horse Publishing provides information about US and Canadian consumer and trade magazines so "professionals and enthusiasts can select publications that fit their purposes" (i.e. freelance writing gigs, as well as advertising and PR interests).
