Pink Paislee launches "The Facebook Of Scrapbooking"

February 25, 2008 - Taking an innovative approach to the idea of brand awareness and consumer interaction, Pink Paislee, LLC is the first scrapbook manufacturer to launch a networking community that focuses on everything creative.  Quickly gaining the reputation as "The Facebook Of Scrapbooking" with its members, the community is a hub of activity for scrapbook artists, retailers, and friends of Pink Paislee.

"We wanted to give our fans a place to interact with one another while sharing their Pink Paislee projects," explains Rebecca Cross, owner of Pink Paislee. "We knew instantly that a normal message board combined with a photo gallery wouldn't work for our needs.  With the Live Pink network our members can share videos, project photos, link up with friends, start discussions, take our Pink Polls, win prizes and more.  With over 400+ members joining in just 48 hours I think we made the right decision to launch this next generation style of community," said Cross.

Live Pink also features members weekly through a "Pretty In Pink" spotlight and has plans to hand out "Pink Slips" to guest artists monthly.

How To Join: Visit http://livepink.ning.com or go to the Pink Paislee homepage and click on "Live Pink" in the banner.

Wednesday February 13, 6:53 pm ET

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It’s a wrap. During the walkout, members of the Writers Guild of America received free photo scanning from ScanMyPhotos.com as part of the business communities’ support for their efforts. Now, the super-fast nationwide photo scanning service is redirecting its free campaign to a much larger group - members of four leading social networking sites.

"If you subscribe to Facebook, MySpace, Blogger or Flickr, a problem is there are 3.5 trillion treasured analog photo snapshots stashed in shoeboxes. These generations of charmed photo memories need to be digitized and shared too", advised Mitch Goldstone, president and CEO of ScanMyPhotos.com.

"We selected Facebook, MySpace, Blogger and Flickr social networking members to receive this $49.95 value because they represent the most cutting-edge and innovative group of consumers. In exchange, we ask people to post reviews on their experience with our scanning and digital imaging photo center", said Goldstone.

HOW TO GET YOUR PHOTOS SCANNED FOR FREE

1) Free scanning applies only to current members of Facebook, MySpace, Blogger and Flickr to scan up to 1,000 4x6" non-copyrighted photo snapshots, plus pay standard shipping and handing fee of $19.95. Additional paid services are available, including custom photo albums, photo enhancements and extra DVDs.

2) Valid only for direct mail customers in the U.S. Limited to one complimentary scanning service per person / address. Cannot be combined with other orders. Expires on February 29, 2008 extended to March 15, 2008.

News from the Family History Expo

FamilyTree magazine has posted news from the MyAncestorsFound’s Family History Expo 2008 on their blog, Genealogy Insider - News and Notes from the Family History Expo.

The buzzword for this event has been “New FamilySearch”—referring to the highly anticipated revamp of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ genealogy Web site, which is scheduled to go public in early 2009. Several classes focused on how the new system works, and what it means to genealogists. Developers from AncestralQuest, PAFInsight and RootsMagic genealogy software gave demos on how their programs will “sync” with the New FamilySearch.

Melissa Frances Launches "Thankful" Line of Products

The Winter 2007 Craft & Hobby Association trade show (aka CHA) marked a life changing period for Melissa Frances.  During last year’s show, Melissa was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  Upon returning home, she immediately underwent surgery and began an aggressive chemo and radiation schedule.  A year later, it is with a full and thankful heart that Melissa returns to an industry that she is so proud to be a part of.

Thankful_logo2 Her battle with cancer inspired her to design products aimed at all women who have something to be thankful for.  The line is appropriately named “Thankful”, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Melissa’s chosen breast cancer charity.  Whether it’s a life threatening disease like breast cancer, or one of the many other challenges women face and conquer each day, we all have something to be “Thankful” for.

Senior Creative Director Carolyn Peeler writes on her blog:

Stay tuned for product previews….in the meantime, please be sure that you’re signed up to receive the Melissa Frances newsletter as there will be a special message from Melissa in the upcoming issue.
